Engines

 

Engine 1

Engine 1 is a 2001 Pierce Lance Pumper equipped with a 1500 gpm pump, 1000 gallon water tank and a 20 gallon foam tank for a foam induction system with seating for 6.  Engine 1 is the first due pumper for any fire call outside the city limits of Sun Prairie.  Engine 1 also carries a portable water tank since there are normally no fire hydrants in most rural areas.  Engine 1 is housed at Station 1.

 

 

 

Engine 2

Engine 2 is a 1992 Pierce Lance Pumper with a 1500 gmp pump, 750 gallon water tank and has also been retrofitted with a foam induction system.  There is seating for 6.  Engine 2 is the first due pumper for any fire calls within the city limits of Sun Prairie and also responds with our cities paramedic service on high level delta and echo classified calls to assist with patient care and drive the ambulance.  Engine 2 is housed at Station 1.

 

 

 

 

Engine 3

Engine 3 is a 1980 Mack pumper with a 1250 gpm pump and a 500 gallon water tank.  Engine 3 is the reserve engine for the city of Sun Prairie and has seating for 5.  Engine 3 is housed at Station 2.

 

 

 

Engine 8

Engine 8 is a 2007 Pierce pumper / tanker, built of a Kenworth chassis with a 1250 gpm pump and a 1650 gallon water tank.  Engine 8 is also equipped with a foam induction system and can seat 5.  Engine 8 can be utilized as a pumper and/or a tanker for water shuttle.  Engine 8 is also a first due pumper for fire calls outside the city limits of Sun Prairie.  Engine 8 is housed at Station 2.

 

 

Ladder

 

Ladder 1

Ladder 1 is a 1991 Pierce Lance Aerial Platform.  Ladder 1 is equipped with a 1500 gpm pump, 300 gallon water tank and a 100 ft steel ladder with a 3-person basket rescue and fire suppression.  Ladder 1 can be used simultaneously to flow water and for rescue operations.  Ladder 1 has seating for 6 and also carries many ground and roof ladders.  Ladder 1 is housed at Station 1.

Squads

 

Squad 5

Squad 5 is a 1999 American La France Rescue Squad.  Squad 5 is equipped with a telescoping light tower, generator and a air compressor.  Squad 5 also is equipped with the Jaws of Life and a cascade air system to refill SCBA bottles at a scene.  Squad 5 has seating for 13 personnel, carries spare SCBA bottles, ventilation equipment and many other tools.  Squad 5 is housed at Station 1.

 

Tankers

 


Tanker 4

Tanker 4 is a 1997 Freightliner with a 3200 gallon water tank and a 100 gpm pump.  Tanker 4 is primarily used for water shuttle to structure and grass fires.  Tanker 4 is housed at Station 1.

 

 

 

Tanker 9

Tanker 9 is a 1987 GMC with a 2000 gallon water tank and a 100 gpm pump.  Tanker 9 is primarily used for water shuttle to structure and grass fires.  Tanker 9 is housed at Station 2.

 

 

 

Brush Trucks

 

Brush 1

Brush 1 is a 1999 GMC 3500 pickup that has been fitted with a skid unit that also has a foam induction system.  Brush 1 is first due on grass and brush fires.  Brush 1 is housed at Station 1.

 

 

 

Brush 6

Brush 6 is a 1992 Ford F350 pickup that has been fitted with a skid unit.  The skid unit is a 300 gallon water tank with a 250 gpm pump.  Brush 6 is first due on grass and brush fires.  Brush 6 is housed at Station 2.

 

Fire Inspection

 

The inspectors vehicle is a 1997 Chevy Blazer.  This vehicle is used for inspection and to travel to classes for furthering education.

1927 Stoughton Engine

The 1927 Stoughton pumper is used is local parades.
